Wintering Area

A Wintering Area is a polygon feature that identifies an area in which a species habitually winters. Different Wintering Area types collected by the Natural Resources Values Information System (NRVIS) include:

  • Bat Hibernaculum
  • Caribou Wintering Area
  • Deer Wintering Area (Stratum 2)
  • Deer Wintering Area (Stratum 1)
  • Elk Wintering Area
  • Moose Early Wintering Area
  • Moose Late Wintering Area
  • Snake Hibernaculum
  • Waterfowl Winter Concentration Area
